To all of you who participated in the photo contest, thank you! I received
fifty-five photographs (way more than I expected) and had a very difficult time picking my favorite. I created this blog for school project and expected only my classmates to participate in this contest, but several photo-bloggers from around the world also decided to email me their best shots. I'm flattered, guys! From leaving the shutter open to playing around with focus and composition, you did a wonderful job of creating a wide range of creative and beautiful photographs. In fact, there were so many lovely photos that I thought you might like to see all the entries. Scroll to the bottom to see the winner...
And the winner is...
I just can't stop staring at this photo. It's absolutely lovely. She took something, a flower on the ground, that would normally seem ordinary or dull, and made it beautiful. I love the contrast of the dark, cracked, grittiness of the asphalt against the silky flesh-colored rose. And yet the jagged lines in the ground resemble the curled edges of the rose petals. Love, love, love it!
Photo credit for the winning shot goes to Tina of this health blog. This photo contest was a lot of fun: would you guys be interested if I held more photo contests from time to time?
