Beach bonfire

I spent last weekend in Carmel with my family - the weather was perfect and we were so close to the water. One night, we went to the beach and built a fire. The sunset was beautiful.

I like the star-like shape that the waves etched into the sand in the last photo. Sorry for all the close-ups of the waves crashing against the shore: I was having way too much fun slowing the shutter speed and letting the water blur.

  1. Hey Kaytee
I really love how the pictures (with the blur water) look exactly like painted portraits. they remind me of the oil paintings i used to paint.

  3. You have captured the movement of the waves beautifully.

I have never read the quote in your blog header before but I love it, so true and appropriate. I see photography as culling for composure, I'm constantly asking myself what do I not want to display in my photo.

Thanks for leaving comment on my blog and allowing me to find you.

I love these! Especially the way they look like they're paintings instead of photos. And I love Carmel too, it's so pretty :) Our family goes there a lot as well.
